What is an MMOARTS?
MMOARTS is an acronym for Massively Multiplayer Online Action Real Time Strategy. This word, born in 2009, characterises a massively multiplayer online game (MMO) combining action and real-time strategy. The origin of the word is claimed by the group Blueside, when the title Kingdom Under Fire II appeared.
As a reminder, the real-time strategy game (RTS) is a genre of strategy game opposed to the turn-based strategy game. Indeed, MMOARTS does not use a random division of time into game turns. However, this is obviously not the only element that characterises an MMOARTS strategy title.
Where does the word MMOARTS come from?
As we have seen before, it is the Blueside group that claims the paternity of the term MMOARTS. So let’s take a look back. When the project was initially planned for Asia in South Korea (2009), the title Kingdom Under Fire II was described as a global project, targeting both Asian and Western markets. However, the development of the game was fraught with difficulties. Indeed, the action game, first RPG, then RTS, went through a multitude of different redesigns, successive appearances in open beta before the servers were closed due to redevelopment. Then the father of MMOARTS was launched in Korea, and in a global version in South East Asia, before it was only available to Western gamers. The MMOARTS is very similar to a traditional MMORPG.
By the way, what happens in the MMOARTS Kingdom Under Fire II? This game mixes action and strategy in real time and allows the player to dive into the Bersia universe, a medieval fantasy world similar to the previous titles. However, it also offers a new storyline, new characters and NPCs. In the MMOARTS Kingdom Under Fire II, it is the human alliance that fights the dark legions.
In the end, MMOARTS Kingdom Under Fire II is an incredible mix of strategy and pure action. This title is a perfect match for the flagship series. A massively multiplayer game, this title allows you to experience sublime battles with thousands of fans in an addictive hero-fantasy universe. As in any MMO, alliances will be made as well as equipment exchanges. Finally, let’s conclude with the fact that in 2014, Kingdom Under Fire II was finally launched in Korea and in various countries of South-East Asia.
