What is a MMOSLG?
MMOSLG is an acronym for Massive Multiplayer Online Simulate Life Game, which characterises massively multiplayer games based on life simulations, which may be economic or social. MMOSLGs can even deal with the military world. Much less popular than before, it remains a very popular MMO. The term is widespread in China, where the MMOSLG encompasses online management games where gamers are put in charge of cities in order to manage them and make them last over time. MMOSLGs have been made to accurately simulate certain points in real life. These games are also specific to the industrial environment and to activities of great danger and potential loss such as rockets, aircraft or submarines.
MMOSLG + Examples with some games
For example the game World War II Online can be considered as a MMOSLG, even if it is a pure MMO. The goal of this title is to design a map (located in North-Western Europe) that looks like the real world in various aspects such as gravity or air/water resistance. Gamers can obviously have strategic abilities in this game. The current version of this MMOSLG is not really a simulated universe, but it is extremely complex and has a huge persistent world.
This aspect of reality is emphasised with the MMOG air traffic simulation genre by means of networks like VATSIM and IVAO. These offer immersive and realistic flight simulation environments for gamers in the roles of flight pilot and flight controller. This is part of online gaming. The aim of this kind of MMOSLG is to create real-world duplicates for those who do not want to experience these in real life. Thus, flight simulation with a MMOSLG is less time-consuming and expensive. Above all, it is safe and not very restrictive because there are fewer standards to be met and no medical examinations to be done.
Finally, here are some other examples of MMOSLG: War Thunder, Motor City Online, The Sims Online and Jumpgate. The latter is a dynamic massive space simulation MMOSLG. This title allows the gamer to take control of a combat spaceship. As for War Thunder, it is a flight simulator and tank pilot inspired by the Second World War conflict.
